Frequently asked questions.

What AmyNav does, how it works, and what it takes to get started.

What AmyNav does

What does AmyNav actually do?

It turns your WhatsApp number into a real storefront. A customer messages you, browses your catalogue, gets a quote or places an order, and pays, all inside WhatsApp, with no app to download. Your team gets one dashboard for every chat, order, payment and delivery, instead of juggling notebooks or spreadsheets alongside your phone.

Is your assistant AI? Is anything crawling my data?

No, and this matters enough to be direct about it: AmyNav's shop assistant is not an AI model. There is no language model reading your messages, no AI agent crawling your catalogue or your customers' chats, nothing sent to a third-party AI service to "understand" what's being said. It runs on plain, deliberate system logic: recognised words and phrases trigger a specific, predictable action (search a product, start a quote, track an order), and anything it doesn't recognise gets handed straight to your team instead of guessed at. What it says back is either something you wrote yourself (your FAQ answers, your templates) or a plain fact pulled from your own data (a price, an order status). Nothing is invented, and nothing leaves the system to be processed by an outside AI.

How does it actually work, day to day?

You connect your WhatsApp number and your product catalogue once. From then on, every customer message lands in your dashboard automatically. Simple, recognisable requests (browse products, ask a price, track an order, get a quote) are answered by the shop assistant immediately, following rules and FAQ answers you set up yourself. Anything the assistant does not recognise, or where a customer directly asks for a person, goes straight to your team. You can take over any chat at any time with one tap, and hand it back when you are done.

What can it do that I would actually notice?

Answer product questions and send your catalogue automatically; turn a typed request into a quote and, once accepted, a real order; take payment through Paystack, Flutterwave, bank transfer or cash; track deliveries with your own riders; send receipts; answer your own FAQ in your own words; and hand off to a real person the moment a customer needs one. All of it shows up on one dashboard, with reports on what is actually selling.

Does it understand Pidgin?

Yes. Every shop's assistant understands everyday Pidgin, like "wetin una get", "how much e be", "where my order dey" or "make I talk to person", with no extra cost. Pidgin changes from place to place, so you can add the way your own customers talk. On plans with more languages, it can also reply in Pidgin, written by people, not a machine.

Is there a fee for every message, like AI tools charge?

No. Many WhatsApp tools put a meter on every AI reply, so a busy month costs more. AmyNav's assistant matches what your customers mean against your own catalogue and answers, so there is no fee per reply and it never makes up a price. WhatsApp's own message charges from Meta still apply.

How does it price delivery?

The way you set it. Make zones for the places you deliver to (countries, states or postcodes) and give each rates: a flat fee, by weight or per kg, or by order value, like free delivery over a total. Give products a weight and size and the assistant works out the parcel and offers only the rates that fit. Your WooCommerce or Shopify zones can sync in.

Can it recommend products, even while I am away?

Yes. When a customer describes what they want ("something to help me sleep", "a shirt for a wedding"), your shop assistant matches that description against your own product names, categories and product descriptions, and suggests the closest fit, any time of day. Name a budget ("a gift under ₦10,000", "below 5k") and it only suggests what costs that or less, without you lifting a finger. It only ever suggests from your real catalogue and your own wording - nothing invented. You control exactly when it steps in (always, only when your team is offline, or off entirely) and the phrases it listens for, from Settings > Assistant.

Setting up your store

Do my customers need WhatsApp to order?

No. Your store chat is your own chat page with a link you choose. Customers browse, order and pay there with the same assistant and your same team, and there is no Meta fee for the replies.

Can customers chat with us in our own app?

Yes, on plans that include it. With the channel API your app, or another messenger, sends us each customer message, and gets the assistant's replies, buttons and product cards to show its own way. Your team answers in the same inbox.

Can customers order on Telegram?

Yes, on plans that include it. Link your own Telegram bot in Connect > Channels. Customers see your products, add to cart, check out and pay inside Telegram, and your team answers them in the same inbox. There is no fee per message.

Can customers order through Instagram DMs?

Yes, on plans that include it. Connect your business or creator Instagram account in Connect > Channels. DMs land in the same inbox, the assistant answers with product cards and a cart, and checkout and payment work as on WhatsApp. Instagram lets the assistant reply for 24 hours after a customer writes, and your team for 7 days.

Can customers book appointments in the chat?

Yes. Add your services, your hours and your days off in Appointments. Customers pick a service, a day and a free time in the chat, pay in full or a deposit if you choose, get a reminder, and can move or cancel. You see every booking in a calendar, and if you link Google Calendar, bookings go into it and times you are busy there are not offered. A shop that only takes bookings can keep the assistant to answering questions and booking.

Can shoppers find my shop on AmyNav?

Yes. Settings > Marketplace gives your shop a page in the AmyNav marketplace, where shoppers search by what they sell and where they are, then chat with you. The AmyNav team checks each shop before it shows.

Can I turn a channel off for a while?

Yes. Connect > Channels has a switch on each channel. Off on WhatsApp keeps the assistant quiet there while your team can still reply; off on the store chat closes the page until you turn it back on.

Can I sync my store? Do I need WooCommerce or Shopify?

Yes, both WooCommerce and Shopify sync automatically, in both directions: products, variants and stock levels stay mirrored, and an order placed on WhatsApp shows up in your store too. Connecting either takes a few minutes from Settings, no developer needed.

What does AmyNav set up when I link my WhatsApp number?

Everything it needs to work. When you connect your number through Meta, AmyNav checks it is the right WhatsApp Business Account, subscribes to your messages, activates the number, sends your message templates for review, connects a product catalogue (using the one you already have, or creating one named after your business) and sends your first products to it. You see each step and can run any of them again if one needs your attention.

What happens if I refund an order inside WooCommerce or Shopify?

AmyNav hears about it within seconds and records the refund on the same order, so your history and reports match your store. Refunds you make from AmyNav are also recorded in your store. Refunded money is never counted as revenue in your reports.

Will my customers still hear about their order after a day?

Yes. WhatsApp only lets a business write freely within a day of the customer's last message, so shipped, tracking, delivered and refund notices go out as short approved templates once that day has passed. AmyNav sends them to Meta for review when you connect your number and starts using them as soon as they are approved.

Can I close my shop for a holiday?

Yes. Shop status in Settings closes the shop with one switch: the assistant takes no new orders or quotes, tells customers you are closed and when you will be back, and reopens by itself at the time you choose. Customers can still track an order they already placed and ask questions.

Can I refund a customer from AmyNav?

Yes, on plans that include refunds. Refund all or part of a paid order from the Orders page, a customer chat or the API, with a reason. Online payments go back through the same gateway; bank transfer, cash and store payments are recorded and you return the money yourself. The customer is told on WhatsApp.

Is there a WordPress plugin?

Yes. AmyNav for WooCommerce puts a WhatsApp chat button on every page of your store, an Order on WhatsApp button on each product that opens a chat with the product name, link and price already typed, and one on the cart with the items and total. It also shows your store address and the steps to connect your store to AmyNav. Upload the zip from your WordPress dashboard and enter your WhatsApp number.

Does my store stay up to date on its own?

Yes. WooCommerce and Shopify products, prices and stock are pulled in every 15 minutes, and with webhooks connected a change or a cancellation arrives within seconds. A product you unpublish or delete in your store stops being sold in WhatsApp, and orders placed in WhatsApp are pushed to your store, marked paid when they are paid and cancelled when they are cancelled.

Can I ask customers for a name to print or a size?

Yes. Catalogue > Extra steps adds questions for the products you choose, like a name to print, a size or gift wrap, free or with a price. The assistant asks them during checkout, and the answers reach the order, the receipt and your WooCommerce or Shopify order.

Can customers be told when something is back in stock?

Yes. When a customer asks for something sold out, the assistant offers to tell them. When it is back in stock, each of them gets one message.

What if I do not have a store at all?

That's completely fine. You can add and manage your products directly inside AmyNav instead. No store, no code, nothing to connect. Plenty of merchants run entirely this way.

Will it warn me before a product sells out?

Yes. AmyNav emails you automatically, once, when a product you track stock for drops to the low stock number you set, whether the product came from your store or was added in AmyNav. Plans with low stock alerts check every hour. Every plan still gets one email when a sale leaves a product on its last item or sold out. You can change the number or turn the emails off in Settings.

What if my store is custom-built, not WooCommerce or Shopify?

You can still manage your catalogue directly in AmyNav the same way as a merchant with no store at all - add products by hand, and AmyNav becomes the single source of truth for stock. If you have developers of your own, AmyNav's API can also be integrated with a custom system directly; ask your AmyNav contact for API access and the documentation.

Do I need a Meta developer account to connect WhatsApp?

No. WhatsApp connects through a guided sign-in flow using Meta's own official process, not a developer console. Most merchants are live in under 5 minutes.

I already reply to customers from the WhatsApp Business App on my phone. Do I have to stop?

No. Tick "Keep using the WhatsApp Business App" when you connect your number, and you keep replying from your phone exactly as you do today, on the same number, at the same time as AmyNav. Your contacts and chat history stay exactly where they are, nothing is wiped or migrated. A message you send from your phone shows up in your AmyNav inbox too, and the assistant steps back the moment you reply from either side, so you never talk over yourself.

What actually happens when a customer messages, with coexistence on?

Both places see it. The app on your phone gets it the normal way, and it lands in your AmyNav inbox at the same moment. If Amy is still answering for that chat, she replies as usual. Reply from your phone instead, and that reply is logged in AmyNav too, and Amy stands down for the rest of that conversation, the same as tapping Take over. Honest edge case: if you happen to reply from your phone in the same instant Amy is already mid-reply to that exact message, both replies can go out, since Amy commits to answering before your reply has time to reach her. It is a narrow, split-second window, the same one that already exists between any two people replying to a chat at once, coexistence just adds your phone as a third.

Pricing and payments

Do you have a referral programme?

Yes. Every account has a personal referral link under Plan and billing. When a merchant you bring reaches the moment we set, you get free days on your plan, and sometimes they do too. The current offer is shown on our home page. It happens once for each merchant you bring.

Can I change plan, and what happens to the days I already paid for?

You can upgrade any time and pay only the difference: the unused days of your current plan are credited and the new plan starts straight away. A running plan cannot be downgraded; cancel it and choose the lower plan when the paid period ends.

What happens if my card is declined when my plan renews?

Nothing stops. Your plan keeps working while we retry the card once a day for three days, emailing you each time. You can pay yourself from Plan and billing at any point.

Who can close my account or change what my team can do?

Only the account owner, with their password, can close the account. Nobody can give a team member more permissions than they hold themselves, built-in roles cannot be edited, and each email address can belong to only one account or one waiting invite.

What does it cost?

There is a free plan to start, no credit card required. Paid plans scale with how much you sell and what you need (team members, WhatsApp numbers, automation limits, store sync). See the full price-by-price breakdown on the pricing page.

How do I get paid?

Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer with proof, or cash on delivery, your choice per order. Money goes straight to your own account; AmyNav never holds your funds.

Becoming a partner

Can I become a reseller?

Yes. AmyNav has a reseller program for agencies and platforms that want to run WhatsApp commerce for their own clients under one account - you create and manage each client as its own fully isolated store, and everything is billed to you as one consolidated invoice rather than each client paying separately. Get in touch to talk about it.

I run a platform with my own merchants (Multi Tenant) - can I white-label this?

Yes - this is exactly what the reseller program is for. Your merchants connect their own WhatsApp number through your own onboarding page (never AmyNav's), and never need to know AmyNav is the engine behind it. Talk to us for the technical integration guide.

Getting help

Can I request help or support?

Yes - reach us from the Contact page, or from Help inside your dashboard once you are signed in.

Can I request a feature?

Yes, we want to hear it. Use the Contact page and pick "Request a feature" - real requests from real merchants are exactly what shapes what gets built next.

Can I get a demo with your team?

Yes - use the Contact page and pick "Request a demo" and we will set up a time to walk you through it live.

Is my data mine?

Yes. You can export everything you own, or close your account and request deletion, any time from Settings. Your customers can ask for a copy of their own data by sending "send me my data" in the WhatsApp chat, and for their chat history by sending "send me my chat history".

Still have a question?

We read every message ourselves.
